Rainier High School Athletics is excited to announce the first annual Rainier "Throwback" Invitational. This event is sponsored by the Rainier High School Cross Country Team, with all proceeds benefiting the cross country program. Our goal to put on a fun, competitive event for the athletes and community. The Throwback Invitational features a 5k fun run, which will begin at the high school, loop through the adjoining residential development, and follow the elementary school trail to eventually loop back to the high school stadium. Throwback attire is highly encouraged! To help set the mood, every ½ mile will feature music from a different decade. You can sprint, sock-hop, electric slide, or head-bang your way to the finish line. In addition to the 5k, there will be a kids .5 mile run for ages seven and under, as well as a 1.5 mile run for those 8-12. The kids’ .5 mile starts at 9, the 1.5 at 9:30, and the 5k will begin at10AM.
Alumni, current students, parents, and community members are welcome – we look forward to seeing you all there!
Cost: $25 for 5K, $10 for (ages 8-12), $5 for (under 8). Free t-shirt for first 50 5K Registrations.
